#1756133: "Static Analysis, Smarter Triage, Agentic Depth: A Practical AppSec Stack for AI-Driven Development" - Oct 28,2026
| Description: |
AppSec teams have always had more findings than they can review and more code than they can cover. AI didn't create that problem, but it's accelerating it, and it's raising the bar for what application security testing has to do. Join OpenText Fortify for a look at what a modern AST stack looks like in practice. Fortify SAST delivers the broad, comprehensive, deterministic foundation, running a suite of purpose-built analyzers fast enough for every commit. Fortify Remediation Aviator shreds the backlog, using AI-assisted auditing to separate true positives from noise and generate contextual fixes developers can act on immediately. And Fortify Agentic Analyzer (FAA) takes AST into its next iteration, reasoning over your codebase the way an expert reviewer would to surface issues in business logic, authorization design, and complex flows. Speaker: Frans van Buul, MSc, CISSP, CSSLP Director of AI Development, Strategy and Innovation OpenText Within the OpenText Fortify application security product group, Frans leads all efforts at the intersection of AI and AppSec. This includes setting strategy and developing innovative solutions where AI enhances AppSec, AppSec mitigates AI risk, and AppSec integrates into AI-powered workflows. He's still very much a coder. His latest project is Fortify Agentic Analyzer. Frans has been part of Fortify since 2014. His experience as a consultant and presales leader gave him a keen eye on customer needs. He joined product management in 2021, focusing on SAST. He's the inventor of several patents relating to OpenText's next-generation SAST engine. Prior to joining OpenText, Frans worked as a security consultant for PwC and as a Java developer/architect. This combined experience is what set him up for his current career in AppSec. Frans holds a degree in theoretical physics from Radboud University in the Netherlands.
